Kathmandu- Glocal Pvt. Ltd successfully completed the “Online Self-Competency Workshop” for the 20 under 20 & Finalists of Glocal Teen Hero, 2021. The event was organized with the motive to provide a learning opportunity, foster networking, and boost personal growth to the exceptional teenagers selected from different nooks and corners of the country.
Today, the selected teenagers got an opportunity to interact with Mr. Stephane Maicon, Chargé d’Affaires from European Union. The interaction session also had the presence of Mr. Ambar Mainali, Information Officer at the European Union. European Union Delegation to Nepal is one of the diplomatic missions that represent the EU across the globe.
Mr. Maicon congratulated all the teenagers for making their mark for the betterment of their society ad country. He shared about the works the EU has been doing for Nepal. He shared EU aims to strengthen EU-Nepal relations by taking up different roles and responsibilities collaborating with the Government of Nepal. He also shared that EU advocate for achieving 2030 agendas of SDGs and he urged the teenagers to contribute from their side towards achieving sustainable development goals, and also fulfill the responsibilities as an active citizen.
“Youths are the agent of change, so it is very necessary to strengthen youth participation” – shared Mr. Marcon, where he also answered few queries from the enthusiastic teenagers. Upon sharing the EU’s role in strengthening the education sector in Nepal, he shared that EU is assisting Nepal in its economic development through support to technical and vocational education together with rural development. Moreover, it assists the government in achieving its goal to reform the education sector through support to the School Sector Development Plan.
In addition to this, he explained awareness is the most important factor in any sector of work. Self-awareness & sharing awareness should be integrated. He highlighted Action is necessary for any kind of work’s effectiveness. At the same time, Outreach & Awareness adds value to the work, which then becomes more visible and people can be aware.
It was indeed a very insightful discussion. Glocal is truly delighted to collaborate with European Union for the Glocal Teen Hero project.
